Some say he’s the “greatest of all time” and at over 40 years of age he still dominates as one of the strongest competitors in the sport of wallball. This week we are given tips directly from the G.O.A.T. which give us a holistic approach to being a professional that can be applied on and off the court. Thank you, and congratulations to our new Player of the Week – John “Rookie” Wright.
“Handball is a sport, take it serious!”
In order to excel you have to train like an athlete. A clear mind and healthy body is important to reach your full potential.
“A prepared mind is a strong mind.”
Through training you prepare your mind and body for battle. Do not let anything distract you from playing at your highest level. Bad referee, bad tournament, personal grudges, the crowd, ignore it all. Focus on the win.
“Make your efforts worth it!”
Bring your A+ game to every match and be aggressive towards winning.
If you are down by 10 points, continue to compete aggressively, no lead is insurmountable. Great players perform under pressure.
“Be open minded when you lose, every loss is a lesson.”
Rookie truly wants to see the sport grow. This generation of players have to nourish the sport by giving back to the youth and treating themselves and wallball with respect.
We all know “Rookie” loves to have fun and that was his final message. “Have fun”.
