This week we’d like to introduce you to an athlete well worth the recognition; her handball resume is impressive and her attitude on and off the court is exceptional. Meet Brenda Pares-DuBose…

Brenda has been competing in the handball circuit for over 15 years, dominating the female division since early 2000. Her best and most memorable year was in 2004 when she took 1st place in the famous “Queen of the Courts,” the Nationals and the Mayor’s Cup. She followed up by slamming in an open handball tournament in Basque, Spain and in the 2007 Worlds Handball competition in Portland, Oregon snagging 1st place in singles and runner up in the doubles division.

After giving birth to a beautiful baby girl in May, Brenda and partner of 12 years Bernice Torres, jumped right back into action making their come-back debut at the Sky Bounce Nationals tournament in Coney Island, New York in August. She humbly admits “I need a lot of work.” Still, Brenda is a top performer, a threat on the court, a mother, a wife and an absolute inspiration!
