This week Wallball World would like to recognize a local NYC tournament host and promoter who is very passionate about the sport of handball and his community; Meet Antonio “Tony Touch” Rojas.
In his own words:
It’s great to be part of this premier sport we call handball. I moved to Flushing Queens, New York when I was 5 and have been playing handball for 20+ years. My birth park is Pomonok Park but I represent Grand Central Park (GCP) in Forest Hills, Queens. I picked this park because I wanted my own identity; a place where I could represent. I was inspired to throw tournaments because I wanted to bring excitement to the game especially after the years of playing in street tournaments. To add a more professional touch, I called myself Tony Touch!
I see the future of handball evolving in a more semi-professional way. Organizations like myself, Wall ball and a few others are the front force of the game. Handball is a very important part of my life because it keeps me happy and healthy. I really feel it makes you live longer.
The handball community should expect a bright future from Tony Touch Handball. We have a lot things in the works including live stream tournaments, sponsorship of players, Toca Clothing line, State vs State tournaments (which was a successful event I hosted in Florida this year), corporate sponsorships and major media coverage. I would like to thank Wall Ball and other handball promoters for all their fine work. Keep up the good job and let’s continue to work together to help clean up and promote the sport we love so much! It’s honor to be Player of the Week. I appreciate all the support from the players and the community. Thank you for recognizing me!
