This week we’d like to recognize a new young rising talent, Jhon Bermudez!
Fresh off of placing 2nd just 2 nights ago at an Amateur (B) Doubles with his partner Ricardo Varela, he’s recently won a 4 Wall Junior Singles Tournament, won a Junior Doubles tournament and placed in a few other Amateur (B) Doubles tournaments throughout 2015, it’s clear Jhon is looking to make a name for himself in the sport.
Graduating from Forest Hills High School last year, he will be enrolling at LaGuardia Community College next semester where he will pursue his academic goals in the Veterinary Technology Program. Besides school and playing Wallball (Handball), he also works part time during the week. Weekends and down time is usually spent on the courts training and playing.
With his academic goals in pursuit, in conversation Jhon has expressed tremendous passion for the sport. He spends just about all his free time either practicing, playing at parks all throughout the city and/or competing in tournaments.
Quick on his feet, great hands and ferocity to his game, we believe he will achieve his goal to be ranked Pro (A) Level. He has been working his way up the ladder in the Wall Ball Community and strives to be the best! We quote him in saying he wants to be the type of player that inspires people to stay off the street and play Wall Ball, and promises to be in the top 5 ranking. This is one 19 year old athlete we will not only be cheering on, but will keep our eye on as well!
